Ladino music - New!

I've just rec'd the following two CD's and wanted to share them
with you. Available from Simon at Hatikva.
FORTUNA - CANTIGAS
Fortuna is a beautiful brazillian woman who has already released
one cd, LA PRIMA VEZ. This new Cd, like her last, is well worth
the cost. Her voice is beautiful, controlled, and very easy to
listen to. In addition, she has done extensive work to develop
a variety of ladino music, good instrumentation, and some of the
melodies are her own.
FORTUNA can be contacted directly at:
Fortuna Producoes Artisticas....tex/fax (011)826-4263
(If she ever tours where I can see a performance, I'll BE THERE!)
ESTHER LAMANDIER - ROMANCES
w/ Chant, harp, organ, epinette & viele
Esther Lamandier is a soprano and specialist in the written
adaptation of medieval repertoire...she performs several
classic ballads plus la rosa enflorece, yo m'enamori, noches
buenas and more. The CD ends with some unusual chants from
the orient (not ladino, but I'm not sure what language.)
Recorded by Alienor (Paris). A beautiful, but more operatic voice
than Fortuna.
BOTH CD's have booklets with lyrics in Ladino with translation
into French.
