Re: Kramtweis?

All I know about Itzikl Kramtweis is that he recorded a tune called "Baym
Rebn in Palestina," I think in 1929.  His style (drunken, joyous,
technically brilliant) and this piece are so archetypical of the
American-klezmer fusion that this track has been played and recorded by
virtually all the contemporary klezmer bands.  Get in touch with YIVO in
