Sol Zim's musical career began at an early age when he served as a child
soloist with his father, Cantor Samuel Zimelman, in Portland, Maine. His
cantorial teachers include Joshua Weisser, Oscar Julius, Moshe Koussevitzky,
and Sholom Secunda. He has degrees from the Jewish Theological Seminary,
Brooklyn College, and NYU.
He has served the Hollis Hills Jewish Center in Brooklyn for more than two
decades. As a soloist and with the Brothers Zim, Sol has made more than 18
recordings of both original and traditional Jewish music.
Sol Zim's concert is sponsored by the Brotherhood of Congregation Mishkan
Tefila.
