[HANASHIR:4670] Re: 6th and 7th graders

I use a whole variety of percussion items with all ages, and the older ones
love it as much if not more than the younger ones. In fact, on days when I
dont bring my "bag" the older kids will often ask why I didnt do so.

The older kids can make quite a racket, so be aware that nearby classrooms,
meetings, etc might be disturbed a bit by our music making. Too bad! I also
find that some older kids who tend not to sing will participate with the
instruments, so this is one way of getting most everyone involved.

Finally, sometimes you notice a kid who has a good sense of rhythm, giving
you the opportunity to encourage him/her to pursue some type of musical
training.
