I also use the eggs but with the younger kids.  I havent tried it with the 
older kids but if you say it works I will give it a try.  I totally agree 
that they need to have enough for everyone for the little ones.  I am really 
lucky and one of my k classes only has 8 kids so i bring a variety of 
instruments, including an egg shaker, and they love them.  In between each 
song they switch instruments.  They are really into it. I have bought neat 
looking stuff at small shops all over the country.  Whenever I go somewhere I 
look for something cool.
