[HANASHIR:4115] copyrights & jewish music organization redux

Jeff's suggestion is a good one. but let us not reinvent the wheel. The
Church Music Publishers Association (CMPA, founded in 1926) is similar to
the paradigm Jeff is describing. It advocates the observance of copyright
law, and at the same time is a coalition of many church publishers
(Transcontinental Music Publications is one of those listed, by the way) so
that if one wanted to purchase copyright permissions or had questions, they
could go right to the CMPA. Before people go and start something like this
from scratch, we should look at an excellent model first. Go to the
following website for more information:

http://www.cmpamusic.org/

or contact the CMPA, P.O. BOX 158992, Nahsville, TN 37215; PH: 615-791-0273.

Everyone should give them a call to get their free pamphlet about Religious
Music and Copyright Information. (most of which is restated at this
address: http://www.cmpamusic.org/copylink.html)
