Steve et al,

"Interlinear" means that the Hebrew sentence or clause is followed, on the
same page, by its translation and/or transliteration.  For example:

[In Hebrew:]      Ahava raba ahavtanu Adonai Elohenu
[in translation:] With great love have You loved us, Lord our God,
[transliterated:] Ahava raba ahavtanu, Adonai Elohenu,

It's a great way to study the Hebrew of the liturgy, giving more clues than
a side-by-side translation.  And Artscroll's translations are more
literally accurate than most, which I like.
