[HANASHIR:3253] HN grammar

i have a number of points
1)my hebrew teacher says my grammar is poor, but i think i have a good
handle of it
2)the plural of HN is HN's. that saves a lot of trouble :)
3) or, when making Hava Nashira a noun and pluralizing, we must ignore that
it is really a phrase. " i have not gone to many 'come let us sings'"
would be, i think, " i have not gone to many havei nashira.
4)i also had thought that make the hey at the end is a mapik, (possessive
feminine form pronounced very breathily, a dot in it. the word Yah often
has a mapik. unfortunately, i can't demonstrate it over email). my siddur
doesn't have 'ki eshmira' as a mapik. perhaps it really is a very form and
hava nashira is an exhortative, and not 'come, let us sing it, a song of
praise to the Lord'
5)whatever. see #2

i had a great time at HN. i hope to go to many more HN's. i had a great
spiritual experience, though i was still in the cabin for yotzer ohr. i was
just happy that the toiliets would flush again :) anyone who wants to keep
in touch with me, Benjamin Fleischer, the guy with the kippah and poor
guitar skills yadda yadda, can email me here <bfleisch (at)
seas(dot)upenn(dot)edu> or,
if you're lucky, IM me as benjo4u (at) aol(dot)com . my problem with not being
at HN
is that i try to teach people the tunes i've learned and i'm apparenlty not
very good at it organizationally or musically , cough cough. i guess i
have to work on it.
later (tell me if you will be anywhere from Portland to LA from Aug 15-24
b/c i'm going driving down there and i need places to stay, or I mean, i'd
like to see you again :)

Elijah came near to all the people and said, "How long will you hesitate
between two opinions? If the LORD is God, follow Him; but if Baal, follow
him." But the people did not answer him a word. Then Elijah said to
the people, "I alone am left a prophet of the LORD,..."
