[HANASHIR:3023] moonlighting, Hashkivenu, hydration

On Moonlighting:

In Los Angeles I have been on the payroll of as many as 4 synagogues
simultaneously, as well as accepting additional 'freelance' work for
camp weekends or individual events. It has never been an issue with
any of the institutions. The only thing which I can think of which
could come up is which temple/school takes priority when conflicting
events occur. Generally this isn't a problem...but occasionally it
comes up. I don't believe it's the responsibility of the school to
'understand' when you can't be there for a special program because
you've chosen to be at the one for your other school. It's important
to have calendar information for all jobs at the beginning of the
year, including all special programs and to identify any potential
conflicts, and work them out at the beginning.

Of course, this is probably obvious.

On Hashkivenu/Shelter Us:

According to the liner notes of Mah Tovu's album "Only This" (a
wonderful recording) The music to the Hashkivenu is by Mah Tovu
(Steve Brodsky and Josh Zweiback), and "Shelter Us" (music and
lyrics) is credited to Larry Jonas.

On Hydration:

Just to be on the safe side, I've decided to give up on water
altogether. From this point on, I will exist solely on a diet of
liquid matzah. It's all about kavanah people.
