[HANASHIR:2898] Re: songleading without a guitar

Judah's observations of Conservative camp music reminded me that during my
few years of affiliation with a very traditional Reconstructionist shul, I
was privileged to be in the most singing congregation I had ever heard.
There was no guitar or any accompanying instrument and no cantor, just an
enthusiastic rabbi with a plain voice. Much as I enjoy the sound of various
instruments, I kind of miss the more spontaneous feeling of breaking out
into song without waiting for an instrument introduction. There is a
different and less artificial flow to the service.
