[HANASHIR:2897] Re: from UAHC camps to Ramah

Funny, having grown up in an orthodox shul where people didn't "sing," but
"groaned and had no particular intonation or rhythm" (which was actually
comfortable in that setting....) and then joining a reform congregation when
I married my husband, becoming their music specialist and adding beautiful
music and instruments into Kabbalat Shabbat services, (for the past 20
years), I have grown far too comfortable I guess to imagine ONLY a cappella
music at services. I guess it's all what you get used to! As a pianist,
and inviting anything from guitar accompaniment, trumpet soloists, violin
solists, I find it only makes the music more and more appealing... and also
a way of teaching musical elements to the congregation and students.
