I am in a smallish congregation outside of Houston, Texas. We do not
have a cantor, a choir nor a regular "musical" person to lead services.
I was recently asked by the mom of an upcoming bat mitzvah to sing as
cantoral soloist for her daughter's simcha. I know the music and,
although I am not ready for the Met, my voice is now at a stage that I
would not disgrace myself nor embarrass the congregation.  My question
is, how much should I charge for Friday night alone, Saturday morning
alone, and for both?
