Rich,
This is a terrific idea. I do this alot in my secular teaching with all types
of music. Take it a step further and play not only Klezmer, but a few types of
Jewish music (preferably without words so their imaginations are worked to the
fullest extent). Play each piece and give each child a piece of paper and
something to draw or write with. Ask them to draw or write what the music makes
them feel or think of. Display these or share them. You may get some kids who
are comfortable moving or dancing to the music and if the music makes them want
to move, let them share that as well.
