[HANASHIR:2787] Re: HANASHIR digest 520 - Littleton

I thought the reading from the UAHC on the Littleton tragedy was very well
done. One of their suggestions for a song was "Amar Rabi Akiva" from Songs
and Hymns (the red music book that came out with Gates of Prayer). That led
me to choose Doug Cotler's "Amar Rabi Akiva" to sing along with the reading
on Friday night, especially since the Torah reading this weekend included
Leviticus 19:18 - "Love your neighbor as yourself," which is quoted in "Amar
Rabi Akiba."
Hopefully, whatever music we choose will remind people about the
importance of talking about problems, listening, and engendering human
decency.
