I am truly suprised that the following resources were not referenced with
regard to this discussion:
1) Zog nit keyn mol is in the GATES OF PRAYER. Look in the service for Yom
HaShoah and you'll find two sets of lyrics--one in yiddish and one in the
most popular singable english. (Incidentally, the best place for Yiddish
folk song is in the books published by YIVO--Zog Nit... (all Yiddish
lyrics) can be found in the book "Mir Trogn a Gezang"--ask for it by name!
(1-800-TARA-400)
2) The music for Eli Eli (not the Yiddish version, but the one by Hannah
Sennesh, which, incidentally is not really called "Eli Eli" but the poem is
really called "WALK TO CESARRIA"--Eli Eli really refers to an entirely
different song) is published in the GATES OF SONG, published by
Transcontinental Music publications. It is a most handy songbook to have at
your fingertips when looking for things that people seem to take for
granted.
hope this helps.
