Hello,

I am new to Hanashir, but had to deal with the same problem as Mandi a few
years
ago. As my arthritis grew worse with age, my doctor actually told me to give
up
carrying the Torah around. So I rarely carry the Torah anymore--even on
ordinary
Shabbatot. It turned out very well in the long run, as I am now able to sing
without
getting out of breath. It also creates an opportunity to honor two more
congregants,
who now carry the Torah instead. But I usually lead the procession, so that
they
don't go too fast or slow around the synagogue.

P.S.--It would be a courtesy if everyone would sign a last name. I would love
to
know, for example, just who is Brian?
