[HANASHIR:2319] rehearsal preparation

I would like to hear from other synagogue choir directors regarding the
amount of preparation time you put in prior to  each rehearsal, including
telephone contact with choir members, taping parts, learning material,
choosing, ordering, arranging and organizing music.   There is no doubt in
my mind that the best rehearsals are well planned.   I would estimate my
preparation time to be  about 5 hours per weekly 2 hr. adult rehearsal and
about one and a half to 2 hours per weekly half hour  jr. choir rehearsal.
It is difficult to determine whether this is due to the fact that this is my
first year doing these jobs or whether I can expect this kind of schedule to
continue.
