[HANASHIR:2195] Re: A Sad Request

So sorry, Jess.
The song that comes to mind, even though it doesn't directly deal with
death, is "Remember To Remember" from the musical "The Messengers." The
history of the piece may make it appropriate. The composer, Anselm
Rothschild, died of AIDS in 1990 at the age of 39, two months after the
premier of this work. It's in Ramie and Merri Arian's "NFTY in Harmony"
songbook published by Tara. It doesn't have an especially "Jewish
sound" to it but is very lovely. Here's the refrain and last verse:

Refrain:
Who you said you are was brighter than a star
Even tho' your dreams were dashed and knocked about
You are still that dream under everything you doubt.

Verse:
Remember to remember
If it's all you ever do
And the truth will see you through
You will hear God sing to you forever.

-- Carol Boyd Leon
