Hi. I do a similar service here at my congregation although it's more of a
"family" service and includes kids up to about 2nd grade. I've also done
the following format with children age 2-6.
We start with Bim Bam, This is Very Good, and Bo'ee Kallah (we've also
started doing three verses of the "traditional" L'cha Dodi). We then do a
traditional Barechu and Shema. For the V'ahavta, we usually just read it.
I've recently introduced the Debbie Friedman round for Mi Chamocha
which is very popular. We do the traditional melody for the Avot and
G'vurot. Then our Rabbi does a little "teaching" which is followed by the
Debbie Friedman round for Oseh Shalom. We do the traditional Aleinu and
then close with Mah Yafeh Hayom, which we keep singing as everyone
exits the sanctuary and goes into the social hall for Oneg.
Hope this helps!

I've been asked to songlead a preschool (infant - kindergarten) Shabbat
service once a month and I would really appreciate suggestions on
age-appropriate versions of any of the Friday night liturgical pieces.
Any ideas for the Barechu, Shema, V'ahavta, Mi Chamocha, Avot, song
after silent prayer, Torah service, Aleinu, V'neemar and a closing song
would really help.
Thanks,
Susan
