I'd love to hear the recording... and I'm fairly open minded... but it's
disturbing to me that in her version of the song the angel of death emerges
victorious!  The whole reason the song is IN the haggadah is that it is not a
silly children's song, but a polemic about God (life) triumphing over the
angel of death (death). ("and then the Holy One came and slaughtered the angel
of death") It's the whole foundation of Jewish belief - that LIFE is the
ultimate value - all of Judaism is moving towards life, and that in the
Messianic age there will ONLY be pure life - no death...    why would she omit
the last verse of the song?

oops, I know this is supposed to be a music discussion, but lyrics are worth
discussing too!!!
