Travelling with guitars

re: Karen's question about travelling with guitars.

The ideal way to travel with a guitar, of course, is in an open boxcar on a
freight train bound for anywhere across this great country of ours.

Short of that, I noticed that a few well-travelled HavaNashirites had hard-
shell cases that can stand up well to most primate baggage handlers.

And quite a few checked their wooden, black-paper-covered cases with the
airlines, but got them back a little battered.

I have usually checked mine with the baggage. My case will NOT fit in the
overhead compartment...I tried this last month and the flight attendants let
me have it but good...On the return flight from Florida, the flight attendant
took the case from me and put it in the first-class coat closet... a very nice
lady!

The professionals almost always pay for an extra seat and have their guitars
ride in the next seat...seat-belted of course!!! Well, I guess the REAL
professionals bring their guitars in their own personal jets....

Have a great week!

Brian
