I've been working on this very program in my community. It seems to me that
there are two ways to approach the theme.
1- Chalutz music: Artza alinu
Uri Tzion
Tzena
Zum Gali Gali
Mayim
Etc.
2- Chassidic Festival music:
Yivarechecha
Sisu et Yerushelayim
Sisu V'simchu
Al Shlosha D'varim
Oseh Shalom(Hirsch)
Adon Olam(Hitman)
Hiney Ma Tov
Shechechianu(Pik)- There's a good chassidic "B" section!
etc.
There are other suggestions too: anything by Naomi Shemer(Al Kol Eileh,
Yerushelayim Shel Zahav, etc.),Shlomo Calebach was/is still very popoular in
Israel.
This is what I could think of off the top of my head(Early in the morning!)
This is also my first posting to the list, so "Shalom" to friends old and new!
