thanks for the compliment...
I think that most of the "traditional" adon olam tunes are fine. I just wish
that people would take time to look at what they're singing! And yes we
should apply that logic to all prayers. Hodu LAdonai ki tov is a joyous song
of praise and can be sung with lots of revelry in a fun way - even gospel
would be fine with me...but every prayer is different - some are shout for joy
and others are solemn. I just don't think Turkey in the Straw goes with Lord
of the World!
And as for the presenters at Hava Nashira calling their music new american
nusah, maybe they'd enjoy reading these email dialogues and rethinking their
choice! Or maybe we can agree to disagree! :)
