Joel,
According to my B'kol Echad (The Conservative movement's bencher) D'ror
Yikra is a traditional Shabbat lunch Z'mir, and that it is an acrostic
which "gives the name Dunash, whom several authorities identify as Dunash
ben Labrat".
In reference to that melody, I've always been told that it is a Yemenite
melody and a Yemenite dance, but after a quick glance at some of my music
books I wasn't able to confirm that... Maybe someone else knows for
certain?
Shabbat Shalom,
Josh Miller
