Friends -
With thanks to Neil, and apologies to the lyricist, I did some editing on
this cute Sukkot parody. I gave it a proper ending, and brought two things
back from the original chorus: "stars" and "must" - it makes the song
funnier, and, hey, stars could refer to looking up through the roof of your
Sukkah...
Oh, btw, the background chorus should be: ooo - ooo, wah-ooo ooo. At least
that's how I remember it.
Anyway, enjoy.

---------
Why Must I Wave My Etrog and Lulav (Revised)
Oooo wah-ooo (etc., 2x)
In Autumn every year (wah - ooo) when leaves begin to fall
We dwell in tabernacles (wah - ooo) with temporary walls
Each year I ask the stars up above
Why must we wave the Etrog and the Lulav?
When I was very young (wah - ooo) I understood it not
Why we wave them to and fro (wah - ooo) sometimes even on Shabbat?
Each year I ask .....
First east, then south
Then west and north
Up and down and all around
We shake it back and forth
We take the palm and myrtle (wah - ooo) a willow branch or two
And bind them all together (wah - ooo) and take an etrog too
Each year I ask .....
This year I'll learn
I'll make a plan
To walk into my Sukkah
With a lulav in my hand
And I'll look forward every year, when all the leaves turn brown
>From every Sukkah on my block, We'll hear that rustling lulav sound
Each year I ask .....
