[HANASHIR:16811] Re: purim songs

Here¹s a song I wrote a few years back ? it¹s become quite a favorite with
my K-2 students, and is fun because it ³rewrites² itself every time it¹s
sung. (Ask the kids about some aspect of Purim, and they make up a new
verse, i.e., ³who was the king in the story of Purim?² --- ³Achashverosh
was the king...Achashverosh verosh verosh was the king....²) It¹s a very
silly song ? as it should be for Purim!

I¹ve attached the lead sheet for the first couple of verses. Hope this
helps!

Enjoy!

Be Happy, It¹s Adar!

Be happy, it¹s Adar
Be happy happy happy, it¹s Adar,
Be happy happy happy happy

Happy happy happy, it¹s Adar.

In Adar, it¹s Purim...

Queen Esther saved the Jews... (Queen Esther, Esther, Esther.....)

Mordechai, he was so brave... (Morde-chai chai chai chai chai, he was so
brave...)

We wear costumes on Purim... (We wear costumes costumes costumes...)

Hear the Megillah on Purim... (Hear the Me-gillah gillah gillah gillah on
Purim...)

Eat hamantaschen on Purim... (Eat haman taschen taschen taschen...)

We spin groggers on Purim... (We spin groggers groggers groggers..)

Give shalach manot on Purim... (Give shalach manot manot manot on Purim...)

(Have kids make up verses!)

(End by repeating 1st verse)

Be happy, it¹s Adar...
