[HANASHIR:16690] RE: spiels for teens

Hi Rachelle,

I am the Music Director at Congregation B'nai Israel in Boca Raton, Florida.  My Cantor, Stephanie Shore has been writing and producing Purim Shpiels for more than a dozen years.  Below is the e-mail that was sent out about the shpiels.  If you would like more information, you can contact Cantor Shore personally at cantorshore (at) cbiboca(dot)org.  She'll be happy to help you.  Tell her Susan sent you.  I hope this helps you.  See the statement below.

We haven't gotten through Chanukah yet but Purim is not far behind! Here

at Congregation B'nai Israel we have been putting together (what I immodestly

consider) to be first-rate synagogue Purim Shpiels for over a dozen years.

By now their reputation precedes them and standing room only crowds attend

them.

For several years we have made them available to other congregations,

primarily through word of mouth. But why keep a good thing quiet? There

are shpiels available based on the Marx Brothers, Gilbert and Sullivan, the

Beatles, Motown, Grease, '50's Rock and Roll, Beach Boys, Fiddler, Broadway

and more. Each one comes in a handy-dandy kit that includes:

A cassette or CD of all of the songs professionally recorded

A hard copy of the script

A computer disk including a copy of the script and lyrics

A copy of the jacket or insert for cassette or CD

A hard copy of the lyrics

Essentially everything that you will need to put on your shpiel!

We also have a list of kids' shpiels, basically written to be performed by

middle schoolers.
