Hi Deb,
In our synagogue we don't have a 'permanent' Mi Shebeirach list. There's a
pause just before the prayer & song with an invitation to offer names, but no
permanent list.
As for relationships during the Kaddish names, the Rabbi states them for the
recent deaths, but not the Yertzeits.

This one isn't about music, but I've noticed that lots of us lead
services as well. I need some info on how the permanent Mishebeirach
list is handled in your congregation. Ours is getting really long, and
some people we don't even know. We're considering putting only members
and their families on the list, and asking others to mention friends
names during the service.
Also, while I'm here, do any of you state relationships during Kaddish
(name of deceased and relationship to congrgant)?
Thanks for the assist.
Please respond privately.
