Perhaps the most interesting music story this December has been the
December
20th premiere of a number of Woody Guthrie's Jewish and Chanukah-themed
lyrics set to music by the Klezmatics.  The story itself is fascinating
and
the music promises to create yet another link connecting the 20th
century
American-Jewish experience with traditional American folk culture.
Forgive
me for cross-listing this post but the story really does deserve wider
exposure.  (The Klezmatics will be performing some of the songs live on
Prairie Home Companion, Saturday, December 27.)  Happy Chanukah,
