I would like to share with all of you the wonderful program I did with my
sunday school kids...
Because of time, I did a "add a class" program. PreK and K came up and did
"I'd like to be a Maccabee" then we added Ist grade with D. Freidmans "Dreidle
Song", second grade were added with Karen Daniels "The Potato Song, and then
third with Joe Black's "Soufganiot".
As part of the Silent prayer, my troubadours and I did a rendition of MaOz Tzur
as heard on Craigs Hanukkah CD "the jazzy version". There was a Hanukkah play
and then a whole school sing with Light One Candle. It was fabulous and the
parents were blown away. Potato Song and Soufganiot are new to my Temple and I
know are going to be standards from now on.
Oh Yea...and did I say we were plugged in? (hee hee) We used 2 electric
accoustics, one hollowed bodied electric and electric bass. Soooooooooo cool
guys!!! Temple was a rockin'! The bass and one of the electrics were played
by two freshman (in high school) my assistant for sunday school has been
working with. The kids are really talented and didn't want to be in Sunday
School with out this program. Cool eh?
sorry for the oh so long email...All the best!
Thank you Craig, Karen and Joe for your fabulous songs!!
Chag Sameach!
