Rachelle:
As Sholom correctly reports, hanashir is but one potential source. A simple
Google search turns up any number of messages you have sent to various
lists, some from 1997 and 1998.
There is no way for me to delete old archives. List owners do not have that
level of control. It's an all or nothing proposition.
I'd say the issue is more with idiots who call perfect strangers late at
night. Shall we deny all of us the usefulness of being able to search the
archives (consider how many times on this list someone has asked about
finding an old message) because of a few mindless folks? Every technology
has its price.
You'd be amazed at how many questions I've fielded from non-list members
over the years, simply because they did an internet search, found the
hanashir web site, or some postings on the list. Not one of them has ever
called me at home late a night. It's all part of being a citizen of the
world, I think.

Might this be a case of: the cat's already out of the bag?
I.e., the information that this stranger got took me 3 seconds to get via
google.
