[HANASHIR:15959] Re: "Miskeit"

Mishkeit is homely, I believe. There is such a song from a Broadway show.
Cabaret? Milk and Honey? One of those.

Subject: [HANASHIR:15938] "Miskeit"

Dear List Members,I have an acquaintance, Denise, whose mother told her
about a song
she remembered loving as a girl called "Miskeit,"
(she pronounced it to me as Miss-kite), and Denise would like
to be able to find it for her, if possible. Maybe someone on the
list could help out. We don't know if it is Yiddish, or Polish
or Russian. "Miskeit" means unlucky or unfortunate (or worse,
mean things) in Yiddish, doesn't it?Todah rabah,Linda Sharff
