Find Laura Berkson's "One Heart, One Home" -- verses in English and
translated into easy to sing/understand Hebrew. I've done it with Grades
1-6, and they love it

Subject: [HANASHIR:15681] songs of peace
As usual, turning to this list is a pleasure.
I have been asked to direct a three synagogue youth choir as part of a
weekend I on Israel celebration. This will be part of the shabbat service -
at a conservative synagogue, but they will allow instrumental accompaniment
(piano, guitar). The kids range in age from second to sixth grade.
The theme is peace, and because there will be limited (very) rehearsal time,
they need to be very accessible. My kids (the one reform temple) don't do
hebrew as well as the conservative kids, but I do want a mix. Any
suggestions are welcome.
I will probably do Od Yavo, and a Carl STrommen piece called One Earth, One
Sky, but I really would like another Hebrew or Hebrew/English piece . Thanks
for any help. Please feel free to e mail me privately.
