Dear All,
I write with a request for your assistance in helping me complete a
project.
For the Milken Jewish music conference this coming November, I have
been asked to give a paper on legacy of Shlomo Carlebach. To help me
get a better idea of what he, his music and his memories mean today, I
would like to ask you all
for your personal stories, recollections, or impressions of Shlomo
and/or his songs. What kind of presence has he had in your life and
music over the years (whether in person or otherwise)?
Feel free to share your reflections with the list; but if you do not
wish to do so, please make sure to e-mail me privately at
jmc31 (at) nyu(dot)edu(dot) [If you feel it would be easier to talk, I would
be
more than happy to call you.] As always, I will honor any requests for
anonymity; and if I want to quote you in my paper, I will make sure to
obtain your permission first.
Many thanks for your help. A happy and healthy New Year to all of you.
Judah Cohen.
