[HANASHIR:14845] Re: Morning Blessings

Craig,
I am interested in using this bracha but I do not remember the tune. Where can
I find the melody?

Hope you are well. I could not find the translation we used at hava , but
here is one we used for indepencece day. Perhaps ellen brought the other one.
Two good sources would be shira milgroms siddur from white plains NY and Larry
Kushner from Sudbury MA

Birchot Hashachar

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolamâ?¦b'tzalmo
You have made me in your image.

Here at our sea-washed, sunset gates
Shall stand a mighty woman with a torch

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolam
You have made me free

Her flame is the imprisoned lightning
And her name Mother of Exiles.

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolamâ?¦
You clothe the naked
You open the eyes of the blind

>From her beacon-hand glows world-wide welcome
Her mild eyes command the air-bridged harbor.

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolamâ?¦
You free the captives
You lift the fallen

Keep, ancient lands, your storied pomp
Give me your tired and your poor

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolamâ?¦
You have provided for my needs
You have guided my steps

Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolamâ?¦
You give strength to the weary

Send these, the homeless, tempest-tost to me,
I lift my lamp beside the golden door

Baruch at Adonai Eloheinu melech haolam
You Remove sleep from my eyes
And slumber from my eyelids
