[HANASHIR:14607] Re: 60s Folk Music (and 50's too)

As long as we are reminiscing I have to share as well. I have
always carried around the reputation ( and I wear it proudly) of being a
"folkie from the 60's." How proud I was when I was able to learn the
finger picking for Puff the Magic Dragon. One of my biggest thrills in
the mid 80's at a rally for Soviet Jewry in Milwaukee, was being Peter
Yarrow's opening act with my friend Karen Berman. Of course we got to
meet him, talk with him, compare guitars, repertory. Needless to say I
was in heaven. He praised my Gibson F25 and I kidded him about the state
of his patched up guitar case and all his travel labels. He autographed
one of my old PP and M albums--yes, the kind you could hug. What a nice
memory! And oh yes, I have the Joan Baez albums and remember Ian and
Sylvia as well.
I will add my words to the folks at the Milken archives.
Marsha
