[HANASHIR:14364] on hatikvah

i'm actually shocked about some of the discussion
regarding hatikvah. last time i checked, israel was
and still is a Jewish state. yes, it is democratic and
yes, it has religious plurality--but only to a degree.
it's nice to hear that young people want to understand
other people's points of view and be open minded, but
let us never forget our history--and let us never let
the next generations forget our collective jewish
history. don't let them get sucked into the bias of
cnn, et. al.

why is/should hatikvah be relevant? that some day the
2000 year old hope will come true: to be a free people
in israel and jerusalem! still hasn't happened! we're
still workin' on it, folks. we need all the help we
can get!

on a totally irrelevant note, i'd love to see our
nat'l anthem change to america the beautiful--if for
no other reason than it's easier to sing!
