Our Rabbi recently ( about a month ago?) gave a sermon about this movie coming 
out.  He felt that it was incumbent upon us to see the movie, so we can better 
understand the viewpoints of others.  He said we need to know where they are 
coming from and know what is inciting them.  He wanted us to be able to answer 
to those who would support this kind of biased approach from an informed 
perspective.  I think he has a good point. On the other hand, I acknowledge 
that this kind of bigoted, uninformed, historically inaccurate and inflammatory 
cinema is very upsetting coming from such a popular public figure.

  I received this from a good friend. I had already been informed of this 
matter previously. Although the writer of this forward is rather sensationalist 
or perhaps a bit dramatic, I feel it is important for everyone to know about 
this matter and to check out the facts about the Gibson family for themselves.

        Mel Gibson's new Movie...called "the Passion" 
        Dear Friends...very important...please read and pass on! 


         A few Sundays ago (March 9, 2003) there was an article in The New York 
Times Magazine 
        section about Mel Gibson. He is making a movie about the last twelve 
hours 
        in the life of Jesus. It is all lies, bigotry, and slander. He is going 
to show that the Jews killed him (actually, the Romans killed him and 2,000,000 
other Jews).  He is filming this in Latin and Aramaic with no subtitles. 
        He belongs to a group that believes this Roman Catholic Church is too 
        liberal and that things should go back to the way they used to be 
before 
        1965 when the church apologized to the Jews for their behavior towards 
        them.His father says that the "Second Vatican Council was a plot put 
out by  the Jews." 
            Hutton Gibson, his father, also believes  that 9/11 happened not by 
terrorists on planes but by "remote control", a total lie. He is also a 
Holocaust denier. He says that you cannot dispose of so many bodies and his 
wife 
        says "There weren't even that many Jews in all of Europe." and then 
Hutton 
        adds "Anyway, there were more after the war than before", another lie. 
        When asked if Jews might be offended by his movie, Mel Gibson says: 
        "It's not meant to. I think it's meant to just tell the truth. I want 
to be 
        as truthful as possible. But when you look at the reasons Christ came, 
he 
        was crucified- he died for all mankind and he suffered for all mankind. 
So 
        that, really, anyone who transgresses has to look at their own part or 
look 
        at their own culpability." 


        FRIENDS PLEASE PASS THIS ON  and BOYCOTT ALL  MEL GIBSON MOVIES 
        BECAUSE HE HIS TOTALLY BIASED AGAINST THE JEWS! HIS FATHER'S TEN 
CHILDREN ARE WITH HIM SO THEY ALL BELIEVE THESE LIES.THE 'PASSION 
        PLAYS' IN GERMANY WERE THE MOST ANTI-SEMITIC PLAYS SHOWN ANNUALLY WITH 
THE 
        JEWS PORTRAYED AS UGLY AND MISERABLE. BOYCOTT MEL GIBSON AND SPREAD 
THIS
