My advice would be to practice the piece a capella with the kids, making
sure you note what starting pitch is the best for the group, as this piece
unfortunately has a wide range, and then take something along (tuning fork,
pitch pipe, small keyboard, etc.) to give yourself that pitch before you
start, so you are sure that in the excitement of the moment, you don't start
too high or low. It might also help the kids to sing the piece as a group
outdoors to get used to the "acoustics".
