[HANASHIR:13574] Re: Moroccan Music

To Judi and whomever else might have an interest in Moroccan music:

A Northern Virginia daily Jewish online newsletter coincidentally provided
this link in today's edition:

Visiting Jewish Morocco, http://rickgold.home.mindspring.com

It has a teacher's guide about Morocco for 3rd-6th grade classes plus many,
many links to other sources of info on Jewish Morocco including several
sites which include song titles and sound samples. When I checked a few of
them out, perhaps the most familiar song I found was Mi Y'maleil.

Hi everyone,
For Yom Ha'atzmaut, as part of a community celebration of kibbutz galuyot
(ingathering of the exiles), each school in our community was assigned a
country from which Jews have emigrated to Israel.

Our school was assigned Morocco, and for Yom Ha'atzmaut, our choir was asked
to sing a Jewish song from Morocco.

  Any ideas????

If possible, please e-mail any ideas, sheet music, mp3 files, or songbook
titles.

Thanks in advance!
