The song Meris referred to, in which you sing "Ima" and the kids repeat
it,
is by Steven Carr Reuben and is in Manginot on p. 27 ("Eema-Aba"). It's

great with very young kids.

"Mishpacha Song" by Daniel Syme (Manginot, p. 30) is one of my
favorites.
"I want you to meet my family..." is how it begins. I use a felt board
with
images of Aba, Ima, Ach, Achot, etc and the kids sing who they are as I
point to images.

Also in Manginot on p. 33 (great resource!) is Jeff Klepper's "With My
Family," which has snippets of well-known holiday songs "hiding" in it
and
that makes it fun for the kids, although the refrain isn't the easiest
for
kids to sing. I've used all 3 of these songs at family events. They're
not
liturgical, however, so you'll want to pick and choose what to include
in
your service.

Linda -- There's a very cute song; I believe in Manginot and I also
believe, written by Dan Syme. It's called "the Mishpachah" song. Goes
like this: "Ima, (echo Ima); Ima (echo Ima) - sing this Ima
song........... Ima (echo)... Ima (echo) ... everybody sing along.
Then part B is a la la la part. My kids sometimes dance to it, or you
could just have them clap on that part only. (Give them something to
do). Then it's Abba, Savta, Sabba - when going well, you can stick in
kellev, chatool; etc. If you need it, email me privately. Great for
that age group. I'll see if I can think of any others.

Chevrei,
I need some quick ideas for songs about family/friends (in Hebrew,
English or
both) suitable for grades K-2 -- to use this Sunday a.m. in a primary
grades
shacharit service. Anything that's particularly easy to learn would be
greatly appreciated!

Thanks, and chag sameach!
