[HANASHIR:12734] RE: 4th grade naming song needed

Can't think of anything in particular, unless you know of some upbeat
"Shehecheyanu" (does Steve Dropkin have one?) but perhaps you could
frame it in the greater "We praise Gd for reaching this day" category
and sing Debbie Friedman's (adapted) "Halelu" -- I'd definitely go for
something upbeat. Maybe Kadish d'Rabanan? The ending is always such a
winner. If you want something REALLY easy w/ percussion you could the
traditional "Ha-le-lu-yah" that Robyn Helzner has on her kids' tape.
La-ti-do-re- do-ti-la-me.... la-ti-do-re (clap) me-me-re-me
................... (How many people know what the heck I'm trying to
sing?)
Best of luck Carol!

Subject: [HANASHIR:12732] 4th grade naming song needed

Our 4th grade studies Jewish life cycle. As part of that curriculum,
they
participate in a small ceremony where each receives a certificate with
their
Hebrew name (and those who do not already have a Hebrew name have one
bestowed upon them).

I am looking for suggestions of an appropriate song for the 4th graders
to
sing as part of the ceremony. They would need to learn the song and
present
it this Sunday. Anyone have an idea of something especially suitable
for
the occasion?

Thanks!
