[HANASHIR:12561] Questions for research - can anyone help?

Dear Hanashir folks -- I have enjoyed learning from all of you since I began
checking out this list. Thank you for your lessons and insights. Someday I
hope to attend a Hanashir conference and meet some of you in person.

Now, I am beginning some research and I need some help.
I am gathering information -- stats, really -- about working in the field of
Jewish Education. Specifically I am seeking persons throughout North America
who would be willing to answer questions about hours per week worked, the
types of duties encountered on the job, salary and benefits, types of jobs
available (supplementary school? day school? other?) and most importantly,
the top reasons for entering the field. All responses will be confidential.

I hope to use this information to gain a clearer picture of the prospects for
Jewish education in the future, and to determine whether or not Jewish
education is still the career path I really want to pursue.

I hope to hear from Directors of Education, classroom teachers, private
tutors, classroom aides and anyone else directly involved with Jewish
education who is NOT also serving in a pulpit (Rabbis who work strictly as
Education directors, yes; pulpit Rabbis doing true double duty as Rabbis AND
educators, no).

If you think you can help me please respond to me privately (OFF-list) and I
will send you my questions. Again, all responses will be kept confidential.
Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Beth Hamon
