I've never seen an Orthodox siddur or any for that matter that omits the "o". 
Just as every reference in the Hebrew is typed in full so is it in English. 
There is an expectation that a Siddur is a thing with a sense of permanance 
and will be handled with respect. The Shuchan Aruch teaches respect for 
"sacred" books which includes some really interesting things like not sitting 
on a chair with a siddur or a chumash etc.next to us on the seat, not putting 
a book on a coffee table and then putting our feet up on the table, always 
putting books down cover side up, or not stacking books without prioritizing, 
ie, not putting a siddur on top of a Chumash, regardless of the difference in 
sizes and the illogical view it creates. Back to the siddur, when it is 
finished, worn out, because of the "o" in English or the "yud"  or the "hey" 
etc. in Hebrew it needs to be buried in a genizah. In Orthodox schools and 
shuls where a huge amount of text is copied for students you will always find 
a collection box for "Shaimos". Shaimos (t) are any paper that has "The Name" 
fully spelled out on it or  some other criteria that defines it as such. 
Leftover papers don't get thrown away in the regular garbage can but are 
collected and taken to a local cemetary for burial.
