I wasn't thinking of adding my 2c worth, but I just came across this text
that I thought would be good to post...

Say your prayers in a melody that is most pleasant and sweet to you.  Then
you shall pray with proper kavvanah (intention), because the melody will
draw your heart after the words that come from your mouth.  Supplicate in a
melody that makes the heart weep, praise in a melody that makes the heart
glad.
