As someone who is a regular cantorial soloist in two congregations, I can vouch 
for how absolutely essential it is to verify these things (and remember which 
bimah you are standing on).  Each congregation has dramatically different (and 
definite feelings about) tempi.  In addition, chants for Avot/Gevurot and Shehu 
Noteh (Aleinu) and Chatsi Kaddish can differ in small ways that are significant 
to each congregation.  I have learned that taking the time to make musical 
notations on post-it notes and sticking them on the appropriate pages of the 
prayer book can be a lifesaver.
