[HANASHIR:11425] Hebrew Grammar Help

The rules of sh'va na/nakh are not "tomayto/tomahto".
They are hard and fast rules. If you need _simple_
help, go to the Artscroll siddur, and look for the
bars above letters with a shva--bar means shva na, and
therefore, a shva that is "pronounced" sorta like a
schwa in english. no bar, don't pronounce. Of course,
in the nusakh artscroll, the word is "uvash'vi'i" not
"v'hashvi'i", so that doesn't help.

For more grammar help, try two books:

For general Hebrew Grammar, "The Dik Duk Buk," by
Rabbi Shalom Gold (www.shemayisrael.com).

For rules regarding Kamatz Katan, try: "The Oh's and
Ah's of Torah Reading" by Rivka Sherman-Gold
(www.yadanco.com).

hope that helps
