[HANASHIR:11423] Looking for soloist position in Chicago area!

Forgive the posting, but I have seen others similar in nature.

My name is David Harris, and I have been active in Jewish education and
music, both as a student (since 1962) and educator (since the early
seventies), when Debbie Friedman was my youth group advisor!

I have been studying with hazzan Shlomo Shuster for the past two years and am
the music educator and junior choir director at Lakeside Congregation for
Reform Judaism in Highland Park, IL. For the past three years I have been
hired at Lakeside as the soloist for the early seating for Kol Nidre and Rosh
Hashannah morning services. I am also a member of The Guild of Temple
Musicians and am in the process of applying for a supporting membership in
the Greater Chicago Association of Cantors.

I have a solid Judaic education, and am continually striving to learn more.
My goal and proper place in life is to serve as a Jewish educator and leader.
It is important to give back to my Jewish community as much as I can of what
I have learned and experienced over the years.

I am married and have two daughters, one 16 and one 21 years of age, and need
to remain in this area for the time being. Allie, my 16 year old, decided
two years ago that she wants to become a Rabbi, and has subsequently been
accepted to the UAHC's Meitav Fellows program. My family is active in our
synagogue, and my children both have very strong Jewish roots!

Any referral regarding positions available in the Chicago Metro area would be
appreciated. Please email me privately or call me so the entire listserve
does not have to put up with extra "junk-mail" on my account.

Thanks for taking the time to read this and for any contact suggestions you
may forward!

B'shalom,

David Harris
