[HANASHIR:11082] Songleader Training Program

Rachelle (and everyone else),

I developed a songleader training program for Camp Swig summers 1994-1998,
and while I don't have that much of the curriculum written out, but would
be *very* happy to talk to you (or anyone else out there) over the phone in
more detail about what we did, and how we developed the program's
effectiveness over several years.

The most fundamental lesson in my opinion that separates a weak songleader
training program from a strong one is that the best programs give student
songleaders as many opportunities to songlead in front of the other kids at
camp as is possible. As the head songleader at camp, this means giving up
your own "stage-time" to the trainees, which in my opinion doubles as a
great way to help the camp community understand where your priorities lie
as the music educator.

Please send me an email and we'll see if we can set up a time to chat
sometime between now and when you start planning out your summer curriculum...
