    Greetings Everyone!

    I am so pleased to be thumbing through the finished version of the
"Complete Notated Shireinu," which will be made available in a few short
weeks. I want to publicly laud thanks and praises to Transcontinental Music
and its staff of people working so hard to make composers and the
publication of their music a priority. We should especially give a
"shout-out" to Joel Eglash, Erik Komar, and others who have put much time
and effort into "getting it done, and done right."

    As part of the major promotional effort to get everyone and their
cousins to purchase a copy of this newest version of the Shireinu series, I
am going to give some of you die-hard Shireinu fans an opportunity to help
welcome the 5,000+ guests to the Boston Biennial. "How," you might ask?

    On December 5th, at 5:00 pm, thousands of people will be greeting and
meeting each other informally as they take the Convention Center by storm,
and Transcontinental Music will be there with live performances of some of
the great songs they can learn with Shireinu as their tool. I am asking that
any and all songleaders, composers, and fans of this music and this series
of publications please volunteer to join me in singing, on a makeshift
stage, in front of the Transcontinental display. We will have three vocal
mics, and two designated guitar mics to make sure the music is heard. Please
send an e-mail to me, Cantor Brad Hyman at: Cantorb (at) pacbell(dot)net saying 
1)
who you are; 2) what pieces (from Shireinu) that you would like to perform;
3) how soon you are arriving in Boston so we can meet (briefly) and run
through details.

    Know this: there will be 15-20 minute song blocks, for about two hours
total, that we need to fill. Not everyone is guaranteed to sing exactly what
they want, for many people may have the same request, but I?m going to try
and make sure that you are singing what you ask to sing. I?m begging that
the composers step forward and volunteer to lead some of their own pieces.
Also understand that there will be a very good chance that the time slots
will fill up fast, so please get your replies to my request in as soon as
humanly possible.

    If you are a composer featured in Shireinu, are unable to attend the
Biennial, but feel that your piece should be heard for what ever
reason...don?t be shy! Let me know so I can make sure your piece is sung.

    I look forward to hearing from many of you over the next few days. I am
even more excited about the possibility of actually meeting and singing with
you in Boston in the next few weeks!
